As Facilities Manager, you will lead a team that delivers maintenance, janitorial, construction, building upgrades, site improvements and general facilities management programs at all Maine locations. You will design and implement strategies, policies and procedures, and standards for maintenance and housekeeping, ensuring that facilities are safe and ready for business each day. You will identify maintenance needs through audits, develop plans, and create budgets for these projects. In this role, you will also be tasked with developing plans for capital projects and partnering with departments to implement their needs. You will provide design and layout for scope and construction, contract with architects and engineers, obtain permits, represent the company at permit hearings as required, and work with internal and external teams to develop specs and RFI/RFQ. You will evaluate quotes, award contracts, perform value engineering, and purchase necessary equipment. As an integral member of the team, you will develop, market and promote a variety of facility programs, such as managing energy consumption and site recycling, to improve overall awareness.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in managing a dynamic, multi-location facilities organization.
Must have or be working towards a CFM or CPE certification; active member of a local chapter preferred.
Proven record of strong leadership with the ability to supervise across individual sites; experience coaching a team and inspiring teamwork.
Thorough knowledge and understanding of facility construction, maintenance, and janitorial practices; expertise in various trades and technologies.
Understanding of fire protection, state building code, life/safety and general safety codes.
Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to accurately assess needs and take action.
Must possess strong negotiation skills.
Organized; project management skills required.
Computer skills required, including computerized maintenance management and building management systems.
Strong communication skills; consultative abilities.
Ability to be on-call 24/7 and to act as the primary contact for emergency response events.
